The Tribe Cast : At The Movies : A Catch Up

With thanks to Kate of AmberAngel (always the best for Beth news!).  On the 28th January, Beth Allen attended the premiere for New Zealand movie The Map Reader you can view images of her at the even here, here and here. The event was held at the Academy Cinemas, Auckland.

Two days later, January 30th 2009, saw the film premiere of Tom Cruise’s new movie Valkyrie in Auckland. Numerous former Tribe cast members were there… Beth Allen, Antonia Prebble, Fleur Saville, Miriama Smith and also Lee Donoghue (who was Spike in The Tribe – he has since been a long running star of Shortland Street).

The photo of Beth and Antonia is just fantastic, Beth looks amazing! The event was held at the MOTAT (Museum Of Transport & Technology). Photos from Sunday Star Times and also theAlist.co.nz. It sure is It’s tricky keeping up with all the cast, good job there’s other sites with all the info.

Antonia Prebble : Nominated For Best Actress Award…

Antonia Prebble as Loretta West in Outrageous Fortune

Outrageous Fortune star Antonia Prebble (Loretta West) has been nominated in The TV Guide Best On The Box awards, as a contendee for the Best Actress. More info is here.
The awards are voted by readers of the magazine… But does Antonia stand a chance to win, she is up against the West matriarch Robyn Malcolm? (Btw Robyn Malcolm also played the evil biatch Ma’am in The Tribe series 2, the one who ‘disciplined’ Lex)… If you live in New Zealand you can vote your choices for the awards here.
Antonia has previously won the Qantas award for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in General Television in 2008.

Power Rangers RPM : Trailer : First Look Of Ari In Blue…

I’m a bit behind with the Power Rangers news (again!)… Well, here’s the trailer for R.P.M featuring Ari Boyland as the Blue Ranger, named Flynn (very Aussie sounding!).

YouTube Preview Image

The trailer looks a bit like a Matrix/Terminator/Stargate mash-up, before going into the usual Power Ranger fare… I think it’s fan-made? Though the quality isn’t high, Ari sure looks good!

For screencaps and more up to date stuff on Ari in Power Rangers R.P.M (Racing Performance Machines) keep an eye out on AriBoyland.com, as I won’t be posting much else on his role now… Unless there’s a few topless scenes – hee hee  (- wishful thinking!), there’ll be posts if there are any of The Tribe cast in guest roles this season though (- again wishful thinking!).

Have a good weekend, hope you like the new look on the blog! Also you can now subscribe by e-mail (on the right) to get updates of new postings, so you don’t have to visit here often, though I much love your visits! ; )

Matt Robinson : Last Picture Show : News + Free Music!

Matt Robinson And John Mullaney - Last Picture Show

Matt Robinson, who was of course the hot Brit in Tribe 5 playing Slade, will be back in the studio this year to record new tracks with band Last Picture Show.  The band consists of John Mullaney (Guitar/Bass/Programming/Backing Vox), Matt Robinson (Vocal/Piano/Keyboard) and a new addition Gaz Cooper (Drums).

Both John and Matt visited sci-fi convention DragonCon together back in 2006, with Caleb Ross, Tom Hern and Laura Wilson, which was the last visit/signing Tribe cast members made to any event. Matt also performed in 2003 at The Tribe Gathering in London, which was the last official visit cast made in the UK.

You can find Last Picture Show on MySpace, iLike and Facebook. Right now, if you visit iLike & Facebook you’ll find a couple of their mp3 tracks free to download, you can also support the guys by buying their tunes on iTunes. Just search for “Last Picture Show Against The Current” in iTunes and you’ll find their tracks.  Read the latest message from them here for more info.

Meryl Cassie : From Nubian Angelz to P-Money’s Angels!

Meryl Cassie In Angels With P-Money

The sexy singer/actress star is featured in the P-Money (otherwise known as Peter Wadams) movie music video Angels… It follows on from her previous collab with the artist when she appeared in his music video for Everything, a 2008 No.1 dance track in New Zealand. In the “movie” Angels she plays the girlfriend to his lead character. Check out the trailer below. She’s fab!

YouTube Preview Image

P-Money Angels - Movie Poster - Meryl Cassie Angels appears to be an actual movie, the trailer features scenes suggesting it is of a supernatural/horror nature and last year Meryl did mention she was filming a horror shoot… But P-Money’s blog states the trailer as, “A movie trailer concept for the P-Money recording ‘Angels’; Starring Peter Wadams, Meryl Cassie, Donald Holder & Dirk Peterson”… So it definitely makes it one ellaborate music video!

Meryl Cassie - Angels - With Alien GhostThe release date for the music track ‘Angels’ is today in New Zealand (or you could say it was yesterday given the time difference!)… Marketing for the single involved putting the official looking ‘movie’ posters around New Zealand. Leaving the question, is there really going to be a P-Money flick?

Check out the official website for the ‘film’ Angels at: www.angelsthemovie.net where you can watch the trailer in high quality (perfect for screen capping!). More pics of Meryl and behind the scenes photos can be found on P-Money’s Bebo.
