I’ve spotted an interesting article about the movie I’m Not Harry Jenson here. It looks like Tom Hern and James Napier have called their production company Six String Pictures and the trailer for their first movie collaboration is available now, check it out below…
Judging from the trailer the movie looks pretty intense and although they had a small budget it looks like it is a high quality production. The film is by James Robertson Napier and the production by Tom Hern. Their website though, ImNotHarryJenson.com, currently seems to redirect to the film premiere information page on the New Zealand film festival site. [edit] As of 20th July 2009 the website is live with new content!
The article on the New Zealand Film & TV blog is pretty interesting, there’s an interview with Tom Hern and James Napier, detailed info on the movie, how the guys got together, working on the film, feedback they received both in NZ and in the US.
Here’s a few extracts…
The film’s premiere will be the culmination of a two-and-a-half year story which began with a familiar scenario – young aspiring writer (Napier Robertson) shows his screenplay to a friend (Hern) in a bar, confessing he also wants to direct the movie. The friend agrees to produce, and the wannabe filmmakers, read numerous books on the subject, and pick the brains of their more experienced colleagues in the industry.
For Napier Robertson and Hern, I’M NOT HARRY JENSON is only the beginning of the Six String Pictures story. They are already applying the lessons learned on their first feature to upcoming projects.
Make sure you check the article out! The film’s premiere is on July 22nd, more info is here.

Wow that does look really good! very intense! but brilliant trailer!
