Awesome news about Caleb Ross, he features in the up-coming documentary The Last Dogs Of Winter by independent film maker Costa Botes – who first met Caleb when he was a director on The Tribe.
The Last Dogs Of Winter follows the story of Brian Ladoon who resides in Churchill, in Manitoba, Canada. For around 40 years Brian has bred and maintained a colony of Canadian Eskimo dogs which lived in the region as “the pack horses/tractors of the arctic” but now serve no purpose and had been dying out.
From Costa’s website:
… the young man who introduced me to this cold world – Caleb Ross. I first met Caleb back in 1999, when he was starring in the cult TV show, The Tribe. I came and went as one of the show’s directors. I’ll refrain from comment on the show, but I always enjoyed working with the cast. Caleb always struck me as a talented guy who put 100% into everything he did.
So I was not altogether surprised to see how well he handled himself in Canada. Driving through blizzards, feeding dogs raw meat by hand while surrounded by giant polar bears, guarding himself and Brian with a shotgun – all very exciting, and real.
It definitely sounds exciting! Were definitely looking forward to seeing more on this project. You can keep up to date with Costa as he progresses by visiting his blog.
Caleb Ross is not just in the film, his own photography and video from his time with Brian Ladoon will be incorporated into the documentary (which is in post-production) by Costa.
With thanks to Jessica Carroll for the info. Visit CostaBotes.com for more info on the director and his work.

Wow. I was wondering where that talented soul was hiding! Sounds like an intriguing movie.
Haha, doesnt sound like he thinks much of the tribe. Good too see what Calebs been up to.
I was wondering where our Caleb when off too, He’s looking well and good to see that he’s back in the acting world :-)

“I’ll refrain from comment on the show”. How classy.
But it’s exciting to see Caleb in something new. Definitely looking forward to this film.
Lol Paul & Mary, glad you guys picked up on it. I didn’t want to draw much attention to it in the post as I thought it best to keep the focus on Caleb rather than the director’s view of The Tribe ;)
Wow, I live in Manitoba and I own a snow dog :) I had now Idea this documentary was even made I cant wait to see it
Right. My views on The Tribe are neither here nor there. Working on it was overall a good experience in terms of the wonderful cast and crew. The rest I can smile about now. No offence intended. I’m the last person to poke a stick at anyone’s passion. Kia Kaha everyone!

What to say about this.. it’s amazing! I count myself very lucky, as one of the very few lucky tribe fans who had the chance to see this on the big screen during the International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam last week.
Caleb and Costa where both attending the screening, which was an amazing experience, to get to meet them.
The work that is being put into the care for these magnificent creatures is so wonderful, if you ever have the chance, go see this and be amazed.
