Major congrats to Michelle Ang who won the AFTA (Aotearoa Film and Television Award) for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film’ for her role as Emily in My Wedding And Other Secrets.
The 2011 AFTA’s, previously known as the Qantas Film & Television Award, was held at the Viaduct Events Centre on November 12, 2011 in Auckland, New Zealand.
I am not 100% certain if Michelle Ang was in attendance to pick up the award herself as I can’t seem to find any photos of her at the event. If you know if she was there or found pics, give us a shout please :)
My Wedding And Other Secrets also won the Best Screenplay for a Feature Film, awarded to Roseanne Liang & Angeline Loo. Another notable, Tribe related win, was Kaitangata Twitch which won the Best Children’s/Youth Programme award. The series starred Miriama Smith.
