You may remember the news about
Reservoir Hill being
nominated for a Digital Emmy, well the series won!
Beth Chote (who played Lottie in The Tribe series 5) starred in the series as the lead character Beth Connolly. The series also had a
guest appearance by
Calen Maivas Paris (Mega in The Tribe 4 & 5).
According to Stuff.co.nz:
In a statement released shortly afterward, International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences president Bruce Paisner said New Zealand had made history by winning its first International Emmy.
Unfortunately Beth was not there at the ceremony, in Cannes – France, to pick up the award with the Reservoir Hill team. Creators Thomas Robins and David Stubbs were in attendance to pick up their award, I’m sure they are over the moon after the hard work that went into the series – congrats to the team on their landmark win!
Maybe this great news could see the production of a second series? Reservoir Hill, like The Tribe, was filmed in Wellington (around Porirua’s Aotea block) and featured local talent. Lucky New Zealand viewers can catch Reservoir Hill as a feature-length version on TV2 on 16th May at 12.00pm. The episodes can also still be seen online by New Zealand residents at TVNZ.

I’m pretty sure it’s
Calen Maiava Paris (The Tribe’s Mega) who cropped up to spook Beth Connolly (played by
Beth Chote, Tribe 5′s Lottie) in episode 5 of
Reservoir Hill.
What do you think was it Calen? Judge for yourself and view the episode below, he appears at 5:23 into the episode.

The episode itself was a good one, Beth Chote is dressed up pseudo goth/emo like for the party… She looks great. Catch Reservoir Hill from the beginning
here.
Calen Maiava-Paris was a late arrival into The Tribe, appearing first in episode 41 of series 4 and later returning as a core character in episode 46. His arrival, as the Techno Mega, seemed to coincide with the departure of the Ved…
You can read the interview with Calen by clicking here. In the interview Calen answers questions you’ve put forward to him (pretty good ones) as he talks about his character, what he has been up to since leaving The Tribe, his current work as a tatooist at Trinity Ink (where the picture is nicked from!) and what lies ahead…
Reading from his answers, he definitely seems to be one easy-going, down to earth guy. Leave a comment on your thoughts if you like. To read the German translation of the interview, click here where you can visit the section up at Tribe-Cast.com.
Do stay tuned for further interviews, which will hopefully be up soon, thanks for visiting and leaving comments. Cheers.
Calen Maiavas-Paris, aka Mega in The Tribe 4-5, has agreed to answer questions for the 10 year anniversary section.
So if you have any question to ask The Tribe’s bad Techno guy – turned good, then do ask. Wether about acting, film-making or tatooing. Post a comment in this post or e-mail to shabbs@tribeheaven.co.uk.
Thanks, hopefully there’ll be a new cast interview up next week on the section.
