The final season of Spartacus
, titled War Of The Damned
, is currently being filmed in New Zealand. Jacob Tomuri
has worked on all seasons of the hit show by Starz in the stunt department, you can spot him in a video with the stunt crew and the core cast of the show as they prepare for filming at their boot camp.
The first season was called Blood and Sand, this was followed by a prequel called Gods of the Arena, the second season was called Vengeance.
Just a side note. I spotted Jacob Tomuri
while watching the second series of Spartacus, entitled Spartacus : Vengeance.
Buy the series on DVD from Amazon: UK, US, DE
Okay, so I totally failed in putting this video up before/on Halloween, but here it is, in case you missed it…
The Tribe creators Cloud 9 Ltd have uploaded a video to their official Tribe YouTube channel of the cast wishing fans a Happy Halloween… Check it out…
Beth Allen (Amber), Meryl Cassie (Ebony), Caleb Ross (Lex), Michelle Ang (Tai-San), Antonia Prebble (Trudy), Megan Alatini (Java) and Lucas Hayward (Sammy)- in that order.
Make sure you subscribed to the Official theTribeTVseries. There’s also some old Channel 5 (UK) interviews I uploaded of Damon Andrews (Guardian), Jacob Tomuri (Luke) and Vanessa Stacey (Alice) in a Halloween themed interview… Check those interviews out here and here.
American fans of The Tribe, who don’t have a weak heart, should catch Spartacus : Gods Of The Arena
which just began broadcasting on Starz
. The new series, a prequel to Spartacus : Blood And Sand, features Jacob Tomuri (who was Luke in The Tribe series 3) doing stunt work. He can be clearly seen in episode one of Gods Of The Arena during a ‘flash-forward’ of the events that happened in Blood And Sand.
Jacob has been working on stunts in the series. The first episode definitely delivers on all extremities. The decapitation in the first arena match will make you freak!
Keep an eye out for Jacob in future episodes of Spartacus, hopefully we’ll see more of him. But if you would like another reason to watch the series, tune in to see Gareth Williams (pictured in the top of the post), he plays the young upstart Vettius in Gods Of The Arena. Gareth is currently dating Antonia Prebble (The Tribe’s Trudy) and his character Vettius is definitely interesting. I wouldn’t be suprised though if he meets a sticky end…
If you live in the UK you can get hold of Spartacus : Blood And Sand (featuring Jacob Tomuri) on DVD in May (more info here) it is currently out on DVD in the US. Continue reading…
(who was Lieutenant Luke in The Tribe) was looking awesome in Spartacus : Blood And Sand
. Currently Jacob is filming the prequel to the STARZ series; Spartacus : Gods Of The Arena
You can keep updated with Jacob on the filming of the series by following him on Twitter. Previous musings of his were:
“My G string is killing me. Ladies, I don’t know how you do it. Seriously. #Onsetofspartacus” (26th August)
“‘We need blood… urgently!…. a lot of it!’ #Thingsyouhearonspartacus” (5th August)
Jacob specialises in stunt work. Though it seems he is currently learning archery, could this be a sign of things to come in Spartacus? Filming for Spartacus : Gods Of The Arena began early in August 2010.
Check out the screenshots of Jacob Tomuri
in action in Spartacus: Blood & Sand
Jacob appears in several episodes of the first series/season, mainly in scenes featuring the group of Gladiators in their training sessions/fight scenes. Jacob Tomuri, as well as being an accomplished actor is also a stunt worker. The screenshots above are from episode 2, 7, 12 and 13. I noticed him in these episodes more than the others. But to be honest I wasn’t looking out for him as… Continue reading…

||Jacob Tomuri, currently filming on the new series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, is featured in the current issue of New Zealand’s No Magazine (Issue 7 – 2009).
Sadly we can’t find the article (yet!) but here’s some pics I found from the magazine on the web.
They’re very Donnie Darko!
Images are from the awesome Guy Coombes Photography. You can check out higher quality images on there.
Nick Miller will be playing a role as a Police Officer in Spies & Lies, which stars Antonia Prebble in a lead role. Hopefully they’ll be in a few scenes together – one hopes! Spies & Lies is a TV movie “set in 1942 wartime New Zealand”.
Jacob Tomuri meanwhile is going strong in his career as a stunt performer. He is doing stunt work in the forthcoming TV epic Spartacus: Blood and Sand made by Starz which stars top NZ star Lucy Lawless in it. Jacob also did stunt work in the recently released Ashley Tisdale film Aliens in the Attic and Peter Jacksons future film release The Lovely Bones.
Nick Miller and Jacob Tomuri are also credited in James Cameron future epic release Avatar.
|Jacob Tomuri, who played Luke in The Tribe series 3, features in a short film called Ergotism. The film, by Stefan Rochfort is “a black comedy following three friends trying to outrun a powerful psychedelic poison”. It is also based on a true story… Jacob plays Mat, David Van Horn as Shotgun and Eve Gordon as Sharon.
The short was released in 2008, so this is old news, but it is doing the rounds at film festivals – appearing next at the 25th Hamburg International Kurzfilm Festival in Germany on June 4th and 7th 2009. More details from the festival website are here. The IMDB listing is here. I believe the film maker is hoping to turn it to a feature film in future.
