Meryl Cassie will be on The Jono Project, a comedy show that broadcasts on C4 in New Zealand. The episode Meryl features in will be a comedial take on, the much loved American hit series, Glee (which recently aired it’s season one finale in New Zealand).
The Jono/Glee episode also features NZ talent Shane Cortese, Michael Murphy, Rachael Blampied, Drew Neemia* and Frankie Stevens, it will air on Monday 16th August 2010 @ 8.30PM, so if you’re in NZ tune in!
[edit] Here’s the trailer for the episode, you can definitely see Meryl!

While were talking about Meryl, check out some fab new photos of her on Facebook, here and here. Looking amazing – as usual!
Jono Project info is from Throng – hopefully we’ll get hold of some video clips.
* Drew Neemia also appeared in The Tribe, in series 3 he had a guest role as the character Fisheye. Meryl and Drew have also performed together in 2008 at New Zealands Christmas In The Park, more info on that + a video is here.
Meryl Cassie did the South African Springboks proud yesterday as she performed their national anthem at Auckland’s Eden Park Stadium, it was their first match in the Tri-Nations Rugby tournament.
Check Meryl out below…

The Springbok’s played against New Zealand’s All Blacks. The Springbok’s lost the match, better luck next time guys. As for Meryl, she did a great job, previously her sister Megan Alatini performed the national anthem for the Springboks (sadly we’ve still not seen a video of it!). Here’s some screencaps of Meryl…
With thanks to TonyTai2017 for uploading the video :)

Well, if you live in New Zealand, you could meet Meryl Cassie (who was Ebony in The Tribe), Ari Boyland (Tribe’s KC) and Lee Donoghue (Spike in The Tribe).
First up the sexy Shorty boys Lee Donoghue (Hunter McKay) and Ari Boyland (Brodie Kemp). New Zealand’s Girlfriend Magazine are making dreams come true for fan girls as they have the guys on the GF Live tour!
Ari and Lee will be appearing on the GF Tour on Wednesday 7th July at Westfield Albany and Thursday 8th July at the Kiwi Trust Sylvia Park, both in Auckland. The guys are looking forward to signing autographs for their fans, go easy on them girls! More info on GF’s Facebook & Twitter. Let’s hope to see some pics of the hunks!
On Friday 9th July, also in Auckland, the gorgeous Meryl Cassie will be performing at RRV1 (Ruamoko Rangatahi Volume 1) at the Metro Theatre. Meryl was name-checked in an article about the event in The Aucklander. The event will be mix of performance art, electro-pop, R&B and funk.
Meryl has had to cancel this performance as on Saturday 10th July she will be performing the South African national anthem at the Tri Nations match between the South African Springboks and New Zealand’s All Blacks in Auckland. Check your TV listings to see if the match is showing in your country and you’ll be able to see Meryl perform live!
I (still) wish I was in New Zealand though.
In 2004 Tribe sweetheart Mery Cassie (Ebony) auditioned for the New Zealand Idol series. On June 4th 2010 in a news report about Simon Cowell leaving the American Idol series, TVNZ showed some clips from their 2004 Idol series. An audition by Meryl Cassie featured in the clip, check her out below, singing a bit of Alicia Keys’ Fallin’…

She only features in a small bit of the clip. She sounds fantastic, and she sounds even better now!
* The original article stated the audition was in 2002, but it was in fact 2004. With thanks to Mary (see comments) for the info.
Meryl Cassie’s Facebook fan page has featured a hot set of pics from a recent photo shoot Meryl did with Auckland photographer Sally Ann. Click here to check out the pics. Meryl is definitely getting sexier with her age! What’s your secret Meryl?

Meryl Cassie, as previously mentioned on the site, features on the Dance With You track on P-Money’s Everything album. Listen to the tune on the left.
The track also features PNC, Vince Harder and Mz J. I’m pretty sure it’s Meryl who sings the opening verses of the track. What do you think?
[edit] You can purchase the album or the track on iTunes in the UK. |

Check out the cool pics above of Meryl Cassie performing at Khuja, in Auckland, on Thursday 15th April 2010. Photo’s are by the photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland. There are more of Sally’s awesome pics over on Meryl’s Facebook, check them out! There’s also some pics of Meryl performing with the Rudeboys during the Khuja set.
More news; our favourite New Zealand DJ/producer P-Money has announced the track listing to his forthcoming album Everything (which will feature the singles Everything and Angels). Meryl appeared in two of P-Money’s music videos, but she will now also be appearing vocally on his album!
Meryl Cassie will feature on track 8, Dance With You, on the Everything album. Dance With You also features hot NZ talent; PNC, Vince Harder & Mz J (Julie Taale). This release is big news for Meryl fans as it is would be a first musical release since The Tribe albums came out back in 2000/2001. I’m not sure how much she features on the track, but still, let’s hope we get to hear it! P-Money’s album Everything will hit NZ on May 3rd, can anyone say import?

That title got your attention! Nothing rude here to be honest. The lovely Meryl Cassie will be back supporting hot pop/rap artist J-Dub with St. Janera on Thursday April 15th at Khuja in Auckland.
The best news about this gig is that Meryl will be performing some original songs for the 1st time, with support from the RudeBoys, could it be the tracks she’s been laying down in the studio?
The event flyer details/flyer are on the left, check it out and add the date to your diary. This is not the first time Meryl Cassie has worked with the RudeBoys, on March 20th she performed with the guys, more info & pics of Meryl at that gig is on the Rude Blog.
Don’t forget to check out the video of J-Dub, St. Janera and Meryl C in action at the Kingsland Festival last month, if you haven’t already.
I received some awesome photos today of Meryl Cassie, performing at New Zealand’s Kingsland Festival 2010 on March 27th. Check them out above! Photo’s are by photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland.
- Many thanks go out to Sally for sharing her cool pics :) You can check a video out of Meryl performing at the event in a video posted here.
