Meryl Cassie, as previously mentioned on the site, features on the Dance With You track on P-Money’s Everything album. Listen to the tune on the left.
The track also features PNC, Vince Harder and Mz J. I’m pretty sure it’s Meryl who sings the opening verses of the track. What do you think?
[edit] You can purchase the album or the track on iTunes in the UK. |

Check out the cool pics above of Meryl Cassie performing at Khuja, in Auckland, on Thursday 15th April 2010. Photo’s are by the photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland. There are more of Sally’s awesome pics over on Meryl’s Facebook, check them out! There’s also some pics of Meryl performing with the Rudeboys during the Khuja set.
More news; our favourite New Zealand DJ/producer P-Money has announced the track listing to his forthcoming album Everything (which will feature the singles Everything and Angels). Meryl appeared in two of P-Money’s music videos, but she will now also be appearing vocally on his album!
Meryl Cassie will feature on track 8, Dance With You, on the Everything album. Dance With You also features hot NZ talent; PNC, Vince Harder & Mz J (Julie Taale). This release is big news for Meryl fans as it is would be a first musical release since The Tribe albums came out back in 2000/2001. I’m not sure how much she features on the track, but still, let’s hope we get to hear it! P-Money’s album Everything will hit NZ on May 3rd, can anyone say import?

That title got your attention! Nothing rude here to be honest. The lovely Meryl Cassie will be back supporting hot pop/rap artist J-Dub with St. Janera on Thursday April 15th at Khuja in Auckland.
The best news about this gig is that Meryl will be performing some original songs for the 1st time, with support from the RudeBoys, could it be the tracks she’s been laying down in the studio?
The event flyer details/flyer are on the left, check it out and add the date to your diary. This is not the first time Meryl Cassie has worked with the RudeBoys, on March 20th she performed with the guys, more info & pics of Meryl at that gig is on the Rude Blog.
Don’t forget to check out the video of J-Dub, St. Janera and Meryl C in action at the Kingsland Festival last month, if you haven’t already.
I received some awesome photos today of Meryl Cassie, performing at New Zealand’s Kingsland Festival 2010 on March 27th. Check them out above! Photo’s are by photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland.
- Many thanks go out to Sally for sharing her cool pics :) You can check a video out of Meryl performing at the event in a video posted here.

On March 27th Meryl Cassie took to the stage to perform at the Kingsland Festival 2010 in New Zealand, where she supported artist J-Dub (Joshua Webb) along with St. Janera in a set located at the Roasted Addiqtion Cafe.
Check Meryl out in the video below…
In the video you’ll see Meryl performing the Beyoncé hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys track smash Empire State Of Mind. Meryl definitely looks at home on the stage. You can the check the flyer out from the event by clicking here (or the image on the left) – be warned though, the MySpace listing for Meryl turns out to be a fake account. Big shout out to J-Dub for putting the vid online on youTube.
With thanks to Jessica of MerylCassie.com for the info (follow her on Twitter!). Picture of the flyer lifted from Eventfinder.co.nz.
Wow! Meryl Cassie (The Tribe’s Ebony) certainly looked great in her turn in Legend of the Seeker! Check out the video clip below…

In episode 7 of season 2, entitled ‘Ressurection’, Meryl played the role of a courtesan named Bella (she answered to the name of ‘Bella’ in the episode but in the credits she is credited simply as ‘Courtesan’). Another video clip featuring Meryl:
The episode aired in America on January 9th 2010. Meryl appeared throughout the episode in various scenes, she was definitely looking fabulous strutting her sexy stuff in her corset, she is of course no stranger to a corset as Ebony regularly wore them in The Tribe! Though it did seem tame compared to one of her tribal outfits… Though she didn’t have a major role, she definitely stood out and was a natural on screen.
With thanks to Ken aka purehero on Twitter for Tweeting the appearance.
Nice one! Meryl Cassie has landed a role in season 2 of Legend Of The Seeker.
She will be playing the role of a courtesan (a high class prostitute), looks like she’ll be strutting her sexy stuff on screen. Well done to Meryl, were definitely going to be looking forward to seeing her in the series!
With thanks to LotS fan Cath for sharing the info, Meryl’s agency page and also LoTS Spoilers from Twitter.

According to New Zealand sweetheart Megan Alatini she and her sisters Meryl and Monique Cassie, who are heading over to Tokyo, will perform at club FiftySeven in Roppongi on 30th October.
The following day on the 31st October she will be singing the New Zealand national anthem when NZ play Australia for the Bledisloe Cup at the Tokyo National Stadium.
And on 6th November, 17th November and the 8th of December Megan will be holding music workshops at the Kamaishi town hall (which is the area in Japan that she lives). She’ll be doing the music workshops with her daughter Tonica and sister Meryl Cassie. The info is from MeganAlatini.co.nz – Megan’s official site, you can also check Megan Alatini out on Facebook.
Her move to Japan has definitely not kept her back from entertaining the masses!
An article on Throng has posted one of Megan Alatini’s Facebook updates where it is mentioned that Megan Alatini will sing the South African national anthem at the Tri Nations match they have against New Zealand. Not only that but she will also perform with her sisters Monique and Meryl Cassie during the half-time match entertainment and also post match entertainment. So if you have a chance the view the Rugby, skip the boring bits and check the girls out singing! The match is on Saturday 12th September 2009 in New Zealand.
All the best to the Angelz with their performance! Sadly I don’t have access to the channels broadcasting the match. But if you do and can take screenshots, please do get in touch!

The Tribe cast are a busy bunch, hard to keep up with, so here’s a bit of old news… On June 26th and 27th 2009 Hawke’s Bay held the finals for their Superstar contest, which gives an opportunity for local youngers to get a chance in the limelight and sing, dance and perform in front of a live audience and compete for the title of Hawke’s Bay’s Superstar! Meryl Cassie (The Tribe’s Ebony) is no stranger to the stage and was at the event to judge the talent!
Hawke’s Bay is a region in New Zealand’s North Island, most famous for wine. But reading about this event it seems like a great community to be part of… The Superstar contest is organised by the Bay City Outreach Centre and is supported by local primary schools, intermediate schools and businesses. You can read up more on the event here and also see the winners of the contest.
Huge thanks to the Bay City Outreach Centre for providing the pics and info. May they continue their good work in the HB community for a long time to come.
Next stop for Meryl? Well, she’s apparently getting ready for some up-coming performances… So watch this space! Also the P-Money music video Everything which features Meryl in it is currently rising up the MTV Dance playlist in the UK, if you have that channel check it out!
