Shortland Street Returns To The UK!

Claire Solomon, Kieran Mitchell and Libby Jeffries in Shortland Street - Played by Emily Robins, Adam Rickitt and Fleur Saville

In the UK the channel Living TV will begin airing two episodes of Shortland Street every weekday from Monday 23 August 2010 at 15.00-16.00 (repeating at 10.00-11.00 the following day). Living will begin showing Shortland Street from it’s 2007 season.

The series will begin broadcasting from the episode that UK actor Adam Rickitt (Kieran Mitchell in Shorty) first appeared in the series, which is awesome news for Tribe fans. As Tom Hern (Baxter Cormack/Tribe’s Ram), Lee Donoghue (Hunter McKay/Tribe’s Spike) and Fleur Saville (Libby Jeffries/Tribe’s Ruby) were all part of the core cast around this time. Also we’ll get to see Vicky Rodewyk (Gel from The Tribe) appearing in the series as Madison Lodge in the first week the series airs on Living!

It is a shame the series is on Living on not on the free channels on Freeview. Another thing to bear in mind is that Living showed Outrageous Fortune in the UK for one series only, so who knows how long they’ll stick wilth Shorty?

Either way, welcome back to the UK Shorty!
With thanks to Scott for the info via Twitter.

Vicky Rodewyk : A Lethal Innocent?

Vicky Rodewyk A short clip, from a short film that Vicky Rodewyk did in 2006 has appeared online. The short flick was called Lethal Innocents and is about a group of girls (queen bees) picking on ‘the weird’ girl. They end up killing her cat. Ouch.

See if you can spot Vicky Rodewyk (The Tribe’s Gel) in the video clip below. If you need a clue: she has dungarees on!

Unfortunately the video is blurry when Vicky appears so I couldn’t take any decent screenshots. The shortfilm definitely looks interesting and intense – hopefully we’ll get to see the full version someday… The full cast featured are: Avril Panqueel (as the lead role Rita), Monika Barton, Janina Suramach, Clare Andrew, Jessica Thompson and Vicky Rodewyk. You can check out more info on the short film at this website.

This post has been back dated.

The Tribe Cast @ The “I’m Not Harry Jenson” Movie Premiere

The Tribe Cast at the I'm Not Harry Jenson movie premiere in Auckland

Thank fuck for Norrie Montgomery and theAlist! – Pardon my language ;)

On July 23rd The Tribe cast were out in force, at the SkyCity theatre in Auckland, to support (those sexy Techno’s) James Napier Robertson and Tom Hern at their film premiere I’m Not Harry Jenson.  Check the photos out below…

The highlight is definitely a pic of the gorgeous Vicky Rodewyk (The Tribe’s Gel), I think Jeana is her sister who is also in the pic? There’s also a lovely one of Beth Allen with Antonia Prebble as well a pic of the ever so sassy Shortland Street star Fleur Saville (Tribe’s Ruby) with NZ celeb mates Amanda Billing and Anna Jullienne – there were alot of NZ stars at the event. Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves, as well as the movie itself.

Meryl Cassie was also at the event but sadly there’s no photo of her. She did however mention on her Facebook that she enjoyed the premiere. [I'm sure she won't mind the FB link posted here as she like's to keep contact with fans]. For more pics from the premiere of other attendees check out theAlist.

Vicky Rodewyk, Dancing Her Way Into Power Rangers…

How this escaped me I don’t know. Turns out in August Vicky Rodewyk (Gel in The Tribe 5) had a guest cast role in Power Rangers Jungle Fury, the current running series of the Power Rangers arc. She starred in the role of Gabby, one of those ‘one-off’ characters, she played the niece to Master Phant (the Elephant Ranger).

So, the storyline is Gabby is training in dance with Lily – the Yellow Ranger (played by Anna Hutchison)… Gabby ends up being talked into entering a dance competition by Lily and she ends up winning second place. Lily though missed her performance at the competition. (The links are to the scenes on youTube).

With her dancing skills and flexibility, who knows, maybe Vicky will join Ari in Power Rangers R.P.M (Racing Performance Machines) as previously some actors  with minor roles in PR later became major players in future seasons… Well it happened with Dwayne Cameron and Antonia Prebble!

Vicky Rodewyk featured in Power Rangers : Jungle Fury : Episode 23 : Fear And Phantoms. With thanks to Jebrill for the lead, cheers.
