Antonia Prebble : Glamping in My Kind Of Place

Antonia Prebble - My Kind Of Place - Australia

Antonia Prebble, known in her homeland as Outrageous Fortune’s sassy Loretta West, is back on NZ telly screens in the holiday show My Kind Of Place. The episode featuring Antonia will broadcast on Saturday 27th August at 7.30pm on TV1. Check out some pics:

My Kind Of Place is a travel show showcasing ‘alternative’ holidays in Australia to the people in New Zealand. Antonia’s episode will feature the following:

“New Zealand actress Antonia Prebble (Outrageous Fortune) discovers the coastal reaches of Western Australia, in the latest episode which airs this Saturday 27 August. Antonia takes part in a series of ocean eco adventures, beginning with a 4WD safari through the Cape Range National Park, before swimming with whale sharks and manta rays on Ningaloo Reef.

She also takes a leisurely cruise on the Yardie Creek Gorge, with its spectacular cliff faces, before continuing northwards to Eco Beach at Broome to get up close and personal with some of the marine locals, including the enormous mud crab”.

To glamp/go glamping is to go glamorous camping. Camping with luxuries, like having a bed to sleep in and not a tent.

Michelle Ang in The Beaver : Pictures

Michelle Ang in The Beaver

Yay, with thanks to Marie, here’s some pics of the awesome Michelle Ang in movie The Beaver:

Here’s a bit about Michelle’s appearance in the film by Marie:
In the movie Michelle appears briefly in a scene at the start where Jodie Foster’s character Meredith Black is working at home [Jodie also directed the film]. Michelle Ang is shown on Meredith’s computer screen as a Japanese translator. We can’t hear what she says as there is a voice over in the scene talking about Meredith’s dedication to her job working on Japanese rollercoasters/theme park. Michelle’s appearance is one of those blink and you’ll miss it moments! She is also uncredited at the end of the movie. But it was great to see her and the film is pretty good too if you like character movies/family dramas. Mel Gibson plays Walter Black, the lead role, in the movie.

The Beaver is out now on DVD in America, click here to check it out. It is released in Germany (Der Biber) on October 6th (info here) and in the UK on October 10th (info here).

Miriama Smith : Lending A Charitable Hand…

Miriama Smith KidsCan charity with Sally Ridge Paula Herbert and Jo Holley

Miriama Smith, who played Moz in The Tribe 3, has been helping out with some New Zealand charities…

Currently she is taking part in the Queenstown Challenge for the Cure Kids charity. The challenge will see her making her way from Queenstown to Auckland with her pal Jo Holley and only $10NZ dollars between the two! You can sponsor the pair and help them raise money for the Cure Kids charity by clicking here.

Miriama said the following to Scene Queenstown about the $10 challenge: “We’re pretty much living and breathing it for this past month – then there’s the blood, sweat and tears of getting up the country in three days.
“But I’m pretty sure what we’ll have been through is nothing compared to what those [critically ill] kids are going through.”

Meanwhile, back in July 26th, for NZ charity KidsCan, (Miriama is an ambassador for the charity, since it began in 2005), Miriama and her pal Jo Holley joined other celebs in packing food boxes for poor children in New Zealand. In an article from The New Zealand Herald Miriama said the following: “We all think New Zealand is this idyllic little place that doesn’t have this [starving children], but we need to be reminded that it exists… We also need to be reminded that we can help.”

Fleur Saville : Tangiwai [2011] Movie : Video Clip

Tangiwai, a TV movie made for TVNZ, was broadcast on Sunday 14th August 2011. The film featured Fleur Saville (The Tribe’s Ruby) as the character Eva Peacocke, a friend/confident to the lead female character Nerissa Love, played by Rose McIver.

Check out a video clip featuring Fleur Saville, Rose McIver and Ryan O’Kane (as Bob Blair) in the Tangiwai:

Fleur is definitely looking fab post Shortland Street, where she became a household name in her role as Libby Jeffries. The movie was a dramatisation of a true account of one persons life, which was affected by the Tangiwai traincrash in New Zealand in 1953.

We previously mentioned the production and Fleur’s appearance in it in February.
