On Facebook, Cloud 9 have already started on their revival for The Tribe. Cloud 9 have created an Official ‘The Tribe’ page on the social networking site.
On the page Cloud 9 have posted a message that features news of up-coming Tribe related projects in the works, the full message is pasted below in case you can’t access Facebook.
I’ve found the most exciting news is that: “New novels being published in 2011 – including the eagerly anticipated story of what actually happened to all the Tribes and characters in the aftermath of their boat journey leaving the beloved mall (the subject of episode 52 in season 5)”.
To extend on that Cloud 9 also mention; “In addition there is a motion picture currently in development [I think this is the Blood Of The Judas screenplay] as well as discussions about a Tribe fashion line as well as the possibility of releasing new songs and music along with a range of other interesting and exciting material including never before seen behind the scenes footage and photographs”.
Join up to the Official The Tribe Facebook page to stay updated by Cloud 9 on the developments in reviving The Tribe. Also keep an eye out on fansites Sector 4, Tribe Heaven’s Forum and Tribe Universe for fandom works and info relating to The Tribe. Yay!

As a fan of The Tribe you’ll know there has been news of a Tribe revival happening (see the aptly named site Tribe Revival to get up-to-date!)
Anyhows, I have a message from Harry Duffin (co-creator and writer of The Tribe) and Raymond Thompson, check it out:
Hi,
Ray asked me to say that things are moving on a lot of fronts and 2011 looks like being a bumper year.
On a related Tribe note, this summer I published my first novel, Chicago May, which features a teenage heroine, May Sharpe, who wouldn’t feel out of place in the world of the Mall Rats. In fact, I’d say she could become numero uno as she is a feisty mix of Amber and Ebony. Some combination, eh?
The book is available on Amazon worldwide and if we can make it a best seller, it would help enormously in getting a good publishing deal for the Tribe novel, The Blood of the Judas, which I am desperate for all Tribe fans to see.
Have a Happy Christmas and look forward to an exciting New Year.
Keep Tribal and the Dream Alive.
Harry Duffin
So basically by buying Chicago May, the publisher’s can see that Harry Duffin (co-writer of The Blood Of The Judas) is also a bankable author and it may improve the chances of getting a better deal from a publisher for BOTJ. I purchased a copy of the book myself back when it was released, seeing as it was Tribally related (lol) and I’ll be reading it this Christmas.
You can buy Chicago May in the UK Amazon, in Germany and of course the US. All the sites deliver worldwide if you do not have a local amazon store.
Don’t forget to check out and join up to The Tribe Anniversary group and The Tribe page on Facebook.

On Sunday 25th June 2000 Cloud 9 opened their doors to the public for a dual Open Day and Tribal Gathering, inviting people to get a glimpse into the television industry, meet stars of their shows and also win an on-screen part in The Tribe. The day was promoted with Burger King New Zealand, who as a tie-in for the Tribal Gathering displayed promotional posters (as pictured) and Tribe placemats in Burger King restaurants.
You might recognise the pictures – they were previously on the website GAKYA (Gummidge’s Aussie and Kiwi Young Actors ), which has been closed for a long time. The pics were rescued from their archives, they were originally supplied by ‘Lorraine’ (I’m trying to track her down!) some of her pics are also featured on the Kieren Hutchinson website. The video below was shot by Tribeworld/Cloud 9 at the event…

Though it’s 9 years since the event (not 10!), I thought I’d put it up as it was an interesting event held by Cloud 9, during one of the busiest years for The Tribe. Prior to the event Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Caleb Ross (Lex), Michelle Ang (Tai-San) and Meryl Cassie (Ebony) were on a promotional tour in England/Europe and returned to New Zealand on the 24th June, ready for the Tribal Gathering/Open Day for the following day, the cast had finished recording the album and were preparing for the filming of series 3 the following month!
According to Cloud 9 over 20,000 people attended the event, without a doubt making it a success. Continue reading…
