Meryl Cassie is no longer solo as she has recently joined the New Zealand cover group Contagious as the female vocals of the band, the cool move will see her perform live regularly.
As well as her solo projects Meryl will be performing with the Auckland based Contagious. They are the resident band at the Cock & Bull pub chain and do shows in Botany Downs, Ellerslie, Lynfield, Hamilton and Newmarket – which is great news for Meryl fans as it’ll mean regular performances from her, yay!
Contagious comprises of:
Brett Robertson – Keyboards, Harmonica and Vocals
Carlos Cameron – Electric Guitar and Vocals
Dylan Elise – Drums and Percussion
Terrence (Tee) Guillard – Bass Guitar and Vocals
Meryl Cassie – Vocals

Meryl Cassie appeared as the entertainment of the night on Maori TV’s Hyundai Code show in New Zealand on Thursday 14th April 2011, episode 8 of season 7.
Big sis Megan Alatini was in the audience on the night as her husband, rugby player Pita Alatini, was also a main guest on the show talking about Japan and rugby.
Here’s a video fo Meryl performing a Jackson Five medley on the show:

Meryl was accompanied by dancers Anastasia Koltsova and Jia Peck for her performance. There’s also a video of Meryl opening the show with Keri Hilson & T.I’s ‘I Got Your Back Boy’ (click here) and she closed the show with a Beyonce and Rihanna medley of ‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Only Girl In The World’ (click here). See if you can spot Megan in the vids!
According to the show Meryl will be releasing a CD later this year. In other news she has been confirmed as the next cast member of The Tribe to appear on Facebook for a chat with fans – the date and time is yet to be confirmed. Continue reading…

Just spotted a ‘new’ video on YouTube, it is of Megan Alatini performing on stage a mini Gaga tribute (it was actually filmed in 2010).
Megan has been teaching dance and performance to students in Kamaishi, she joined them on stage for a short performance of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and Just Dance, during a local gathering.
The video is from 2010, I don’t know the exact date, it’s lovely though :)

It’s a small stage, but I think Megan is definitely truly showing her lovely persona up there, performing for the crowd, no matter the size or place. More videos featuring Megan (some in Japanese) can be seen on the YouTube channel blackbird9d.
This video was uploaded to Youtube by the user on March 9th 2011, this post has been backdated.
Known crowd pleaser Meryl Cassie was invited to perform at the 2010 Pasefika Festival.
Check out the lovely photos of Meryl taken at the event by Sally-Ann Ahern Photography. The festival was held at Hato Petera College Sports Fields, Northcote, Auckland on 27th November 2010.
If you are on Facebook, make sure you check out Meryl’s profile to keep up to date on upcoming events.
Check out the cool pics above of Meryl Cassie performing at Khuja, in Auckland, on Thursday 15th April 2010. Photo’s are by the photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland. More news; our favourite New Zealand DJ/producer P-Money has announced the track listing to his forthcoming album Everything (which will feature the singles Everything and Angels). Meryl appeared in two of P-Money’s music videos, but she will now also be appearing vocally on his album!
Meryl Cassie will feature on track 8, Dance With You, on the Everything album. Dance With You also features hot NZ talent; PNC, Vince Harder & Mz J (Julie Taale). This release is big news for Meryl fans as it is would be a first musical release since The Tribe albums came out back in 2000/2001. I’m not sure how much she features on the track, but still, let’s hope we get to hear it! P-Money’s album Everything will hit NZ on May 3rd, can anyone say import?

That title got your attention! Nothing rude here to be honest. The lovely Meryl Cassie will be back supporting hot pop/rap artist J-Dub with St. Janera on Thursday April 15th at Khuja in Auckland.
The best news about this gig is that Meryl will be performing some original songs for the 1st time, with support from the RudeBoys, could it be the tracks she’s been laying down in the studio?
The event flyer details/flyer are on the left, check it out and add the date to your diary. This is not the first time Meryl Cassie has worked with the RudeBoys, on March 20th she performed with the guys, more info & pics of Meryl at that gig is on the Rude Blog.
Don’t forget to check out the video of J-Dub, St. Janera and Meryl C in action at the Kingsland Festival last month, if you haven’t already.
I received some awesome photos today of Meryl Cassie, performing at New Zealand’s Kingsland Festival 2010 on March 27th. Check them out above! Photo’s are by photographer Sally-Ann Ahern who is based in Auckland.
- Many thanks go out to Sally for sharing her cool pics :) You can check a video out of Meryl performing at the event in a video posted here.

On March 27th Meryl Cassie took to the stage to perform at the Kingsland Festival 2010 in New Zealand, where she supported artist J-Dub (Joshua Webb) along with St. Janera in a set located at the Roasted Addiqtion Cafe.
Check Meryl out in the video below…
In the video you’ll see Meryl performing the BeyoncĂ© hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys track smash Empire State Of Mind. Meryl definitely looks at home on the stage. You can the check the flyer out from the event by clicking here (or the image on the left) – be warned though, the MySpace listing for Meryl turns out to be a fake account. Big shout out to J-Dub for putting the vid online on youTube.
With thanks to Jessica of MerylCassie.com for the info (follow her on Twitter!). Picture of the flyer lifted from Eventfinder.co.nz.
There’s a lovely video on youTube by blackbird9d of Megan Alatini performing the Kamaishi Seawaves Song on November 22nd 2009.
Check out the video…

The Kamaishi brass band sound amazing amazing as does Megan during the performance. I’m not sure entirely about this event as we don’t have much details, would be cool to find out who the guy is she is performing with too.
Megan is also joined the stage by her and Pita Alatini’s daughters, Tonica and Tiara, and her son Trey.
