The Cult is being tipped to be the next hottest thing on New Zealand TV, following on from Outrageous Fortune. Dwayne Cameron stars in the new series which has been dubbed as ‘Lost meets Prison Break’. Check out the promotional photo images below, they featured on NZHerald’s website.

The Cult, New Zealand’s TV2′s hot new series, which stars Dwayne Cameron, had it’s launch party on 1st September at Sky City’s Gold Class Cinema in Auckland. TheAList was there and took pictures. Great news for Dwayne fans! Dwayne Cameron is filming in a new series called The Cult made by Great Southern Film & Television. A description of the series is as follows:

The Cult is a 13-part serialised event drama aimed at the 18-39 demographic and written for TV2. Think Prison Break meets Lost. A group of hot young 20-somethings are trapped within a bizarre cult. As the “mysterious” Enhancement Day approaches – some members desperately want to get out. But they can’t … the Leader is deranged; the rules of engagement have changed. Cult members are factionalised – so turning against the charismatic Leader isn’t as easy as it sounds. And those trapped within the cult are starting to unearth some unseemly secrets.

Sounds quiet interesting… The Chosen on larger scale? Dwayne Cameron plays the character Nathan who is a member of the core cast. The series is filmed in Auckland during April through August. It is hopefully broadcasting on New Zealand’s TV2 around Oct/December.
