Tribe Fever

An amazing Tribe special shown in Germany in 2003. The special followed The Tribe cast on their European tour in Germany and went behind the scenes of series 4 of The Tribe.

This is dubbed in German, but allot of the scenes have never been broadcast before out of Germany. Some scenes have scattered English in them.

Part one contains: Interviews with the cast while they are out and about in Germany (and other countries) – extended scenes of what was seen in the official tour videos released by Cloud 9, Tom Hern singing, Meryl Cassie singing, Tom Hern doing the NEw Zealand Haka.

Part two: Amazing behind the scenes footage from series 4. See the cast without their make-up as they have a brief about filming. Also filming of early series 4 episodes, Kelly Stevenson and Daniel Weekes Hannah on set. Outakes/bloopers – the general blooper clips shown all the time mainly from series 2 and 3… There’s profiles/interview of the 2003 touring cast members, Antonia Prebble (Trudy) in an ice-cream parlour, Michael Wesley Smith (Jack) playing footy, James Napier (Jay) and Meryl Cassie (Ebony) are interviewed (they so look couply in the video!) they both end up in a music shop.

Part three: Antonia Prebble makes a ‘Tribe on Ice’, icecream platter. Michael Wesley Smith shows some of his footy skills. Meryl and James perform together a special Tribe tour song. Tom Hern (Ram) is profiled, raps a bit and is interviewed. The cast then get together to do the haka. Finally a cute music montage for The Dream Must Stay Alive is played.

This is the official other / alternative video for Abe Messiah. Video is from the Tribeworld website and is different to the one that was released on The Tribe CD and the video sold by Cloud 9.

Unlike the other video, this one features only Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Meryl Cassie (Ebony), Michelle Ang (Tai San), and Caleb Ross (Lex) in their series 3 Tribe costumes.

Was this filmed around the same time as the ‘You Belong To Me’ video?

In a pre-recorded message, Caleb Ross (Lex) and Joseph Crawford (Darryl) accept The Tribe’s award for best (foreign) TV series at the Bobsters. The awards ceremony is held in Sweden, broadcast on SVT.

The broadcast date was 17th June 2007. Video was probably recorded a week or two in advance.

There are nine parts in total, here is a breakdown of what happens…

01: Winners Meet Raymond Thompson
This part features Michelle Ang (Tai-San), Caleb Ross (Lex), Dwayne Cameron (Bray) and Raymond Thompson.

02: Beth Allen, Michelle Ang & Laura Wilson
The girls visit the wardrobe and make-up department and speak to the stylists/costume designers. We see Laura Wilson (May) get ready for the day. Michelle Ang (Tai-San) speaks about her make-up. There’s more behind the scenes action and finally an interview with Beth Allen (The Tribe’s Amber).

03: Behind The Scenes/Male Tribe Cast
The girls go behind the scenes of the filming of Luke’s trial in series 3 of The Tribe and become extras as Mozzies and Gaians.The girls then visit the male cast members house and chat to Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Caleb Ross (Lex), Danny James (Zoot) and Nick Miller (Pride). Finally in this part the girls tour New Zealand and see the locations/areas of the country where key scenes of The Tribe were filmed. If you visit New Zealand make sure you watch this video and make notes of where to visit!

04: Daniel James (Zoot) Interview
Daniel James who plays Zoot in The Tribe, interviews Raymond Thompson. Later Daniel James gets interviewed about working both infront and behind the camera in The Tribe and also about his embaressing moments on-set!

05: Victoria Spence & Dwayne Cameron
The girls talk schooling and interview the cast members teachers and Victoria Spence (Salene in The Tribe) about education on site at Cloud 9. Later Dwayne Cameron (Bray) is interviewed.

06: Editing The Show & Vanessa Stacey
The girls go on a bungee ride in New Zealand (yeah, it’s not Tribal related, but they put it in the episode…) Vanessa Stacey, The Tribe’s Alice, is interviewed about her role in The Tribe and how she got started out in the series. Later the girls meet the behind the scenes workers of The Tribe as they find out how the episodes are edited and sound is used to bring the series to life. Quiet interesting really.

07: Caleb Ross, MWS & Karaoke Party!
The Tribe’s Caleb Ross (Lex) is interviewed on all manner of subjects including the show, relationships and music. Later the girls are invited to a party at a cast house where they group together and sing. The one track you can here is The Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony. Features Jennyfer Jewell (Ellie), Meryl Cassie (Ebony), Ari Boyland (KC), Amelia Reynolds (Tally), James Ordish (Andy) plus others. Michael Wesley Smith is also interviewed, he seems kind of nervous as he answers questions from friendships to those embaressing moments onset.

08: You Belong To Me Dance Rehearsal
More behind the scenes footage of the cast as they have breakfast and get ready for a days work. Meanwhile Jennyffer Jewell (Ellie) hits the play button as Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Michelle Ang (Tai-San), Caleb Ross (Lex) and Meryl Cassie (Ebony) show us their dance routine for You Belong To Me which they’ll be performing for a Mall show.

09: More Behind The Scenes Stuff!
The girls hit the sets for their last times as a scene is filmed in a subway featuring the Mozzies and a scene in a club. More behind the scenes action with Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Nick Miller (Pride), Miriama Smith (Moz), Caleb Ross (Lex), Vanessa Stacey (Alice) and others as we see them waiting around for filming to commence, practicing lines/accents and generally looking cool!

Fantastic stuff! There is a mix of Norwegian and English, but thankfully the interviews are all in English do there is no over dub. There’s so much content in this series of interviews, do watch them!

Interviewer: Did you meet your boyfriend on The Tribe set?
Meryl: I met my boyfriend a year and a half outside the set,? he has a life outside show business.
Beth: Same here, i met my boyfriend through a good friend of mine, he is his sister oops! He is his older brother! (laugh)

Interviewer: Do fans follow you?
All: Yes!!!
Beth: They follow us to all places, they give us gifts and things, others ask the actors to marry them.
Meryl: It comes with fame and you expect it in someways, it is not that fans are? following you, but normally it is positive with them.

Interviewer: Which are the most agressive? fans?
Caleb: A Scandinavian girl sent to me a letter telling me that she wanted to eat me!

Interviewer: Did you meet her?
Caleb: No, never.

Interviewer: Received any letters with underwear?
Merryl: She just want to eat him!

Interviewer: What have you learnt from the program?
Beth: What have we learned Ebony?
Meryl: To apreciate life without adults, being far from home and far away and to begin a new independent life.
Caleb: We also learned that is good to have some adults in your? life.

Interviewer: Any favourite actor from The Tribe?
Beth: We love to work with Mickey as he’s soo funny! And it’s good to work with girls, being one it’s better to be united!

Interviewer: You are single, what is your ideal woman?
Caleb:? I think…. The Spanish are!!
